The Benchmade Griptilian is one of Benchmades Classics that has been around for years. The Griptilian is ranked one of the overall best EDC Knife that is in the knife industry. This Benchmade Classic has been upgraded to G10 handles and a premium steel. The 556-1 are made with Premium CPM-20CV stainless steel. CPM-20CV is virtually identical in chemical composition to the current M390 but is made in the United States. It offers better edge retention but not quite as tough as M390. The Benchmade Griptilian 556-1 also upgrades the handle material with textured grey G10 with blue G10 accent and blue barrel spacers. One thing stays the same is the award winning Axis Lock. Benchmade Knives are known for their design of the Axis Lock, it is functionally smooth and easy to operate. The Griptilian is designed by custom knife make Mel Pardue.
